Walking Down Memory Lane

Well Dang!  We did it!  We had ourselves another great reunion!  Here's the crazy part though; I didn't take but one picture!  I know!  It's not like me at all, but I had such a great time talking to everyone and catching up, that for one exception, I just enjoyed the moment.

Going back to the people who knew you "when" was such an important gift that we truly all gave each other.  I likened it to watching an episode of Cold Case.  When you first saw an old classmate, you saw him/her with your 48 year old eyes, and sometimes it was kind of hard to see who that old friend was.  As the night went on, we started seeing with our 18 year old eyes.  From all the stories retold to the music and pictures there to remind us of those growing up years, I think we all found ourselves, a true mix of who we were and who we are today.  Only old friends can do that for you and appreciate all that has gone on between the years.

If you are considering going to a class reunion, I hope you decide to go.  Why?  Well, for one, if you don't go, then there is no reunion.  TWO, there WILL be someone there who came home just to see you.  THREE, it is a blessing to be able to have shared memories.  FOUR, you will find someone who you didn't realize you missed so much until you were able to give him/her a hug.

Here is my one picture of the person who brought tears to my eyes when she walked through the door.  Both girls were/are good friends, but my dear red-headed friend lives far away, and although we have continued to keep up with family news through Christmas cards and occasional long letters, giving her a hug did my heart so much good!

Love you Jewl and everyone from the Class of 1980!  We ROCKED then, and we still know how to ROCK 30 years later!

  3. OH how neat, Lana... So glad you got to go.... I graduated in 1960---so we had our 50th class reunion this summer. I missed it though due to my knee surgery... Darn!!!!!

BUT--I do have 3 childhood friends that are very special to me. We get together once a year for several days just to catch up. Those childhood friends are truly friends forever.

    Hugs,
    Betsy
