First Communion Recap!

Whew!  We made it through the weekend!  Thanks to everyone who helped out this weekend from the teachers, to Father Gross, to parents, and our families.  Tink had a beautiful day.  I wanted to post yesterday, BUT Miss Bear has been having terrible tummy troubles, so we scooted her off to the doctor yesterday.  Acid Reflux is our instigator we think.  She's a silent suffer, so when we had tears Sunday night, I told Tall Guy we were headed to the big town to see what was going on inside her.  She's doing much better today with some medicine, but we'll keep an eye on her for a while to make sure we are on the right path.

Here are a few snap shots of Sunday.  Make sure you scroll down to find a new a yummy punch recipe from my bestie Southern blog pal, Miss Southern Belle Simple!  It was a great success!

Father Gross and Tink

Isn't this guy just adorable?  He's the newest member of our family, and he has grown so much!

Thanks so much to Mrs. Alice Geswein for making Tink's cake.  It was AWESOME!

Tink with Tall Guy's parents.  Nice foot shot right?  Silly Girl!

My mom and dad

The happy family ;-)

The Three Amigos

The Godparents: Tall Guy's brother and his wife, and my bestest friend since 5th grade!

Now this punch was YUMMY!  Get your copy and paste fingers ready:

Baptist Champagne Punch
Punch bowl Version:
1 2-liter of Ginger Ale (chilled)
1 64-oz bottle of Welch’s White Grape Peach Juice (we used White Grape Peach Mango this time and it was wonderful)
Pour contents of both bottles into bowl and float frozen peach slices on the surface
Pitcher Version:
1 2-liter bottle of Ginger Ale (Chilled)
1 can Welch’s frozen White Grape Juice concentrate
Pour concentrate into pitcher and then pour Ginger Ale over it

I was very tempted to add some sparkling wine to the mix, but it was wonderful just as is!
Thanks Miss Belle!

I was tempted to tell my littlest nephew to scoot over on the couch!  Oh to be young again~!  :-)

Thanks for putting up with this momma's brag book today.  We are so hoping we will have some farming pics to share soon.  My Real Farmwives of America pals in the central and southern part of Indiana are still getting a lot of rain, but we have missed most of the heavy stuff these last few days, so IF we can get some SUN and a LITTLE WIND, we might be in business by the end of the week.  Keep your fingers crossed.

When you mosey over to our Real Farmwives of America page, you can help my good friend Miss Megan, from Gal in the Middle, decide what Gooseberry cookbook to dive into for her turn at sharing recipes!   We are having so much fun with this project, and you will get to see some fantastic recipes from a great book and a great cook!

Be safe and dry today!

  1. What a beautiful day!! And what a beautiful girl(s)!

Baptist punch? What a hoot as I grew up a southern baptist. The punch, at weddings, was/is supposed to match the color of the bridesmaids dresses--hard to do when there are many different colors.

    Best,
    Bonnie
