I think I just found a HUGE winner here my dear readers! This wonderful recipe is soooooo good it just might find its way out to the field in a week or two when harvest hits high gear! I did make a few changes or rather omissions, but we really liked these turnovers!
I chopped up my chicken BEFORE cooking it so it cooks faster.
Have you seen this in your grocery isle?
I really like the fact that I can clip out these box tops for the kids to take to school. Gotta love products that help our schools!
For the onion part, I went to my favorite add-it-in the mix, Onion Onion from Tastefully Simple! Yummmm. Tall Guy doesn't like onions, but I LOVE them, so it's a bit of a compromise.
For this recipe, I used another new fav, Philly Cream Cheese 1/3 fat Chive spread. LOVE IT!
The sealing up part was a bit tricky, but I just kept pinching edges until all the creamy part looked to be contained.
DANG! Just when I think I will find a bit of peace in the kitchen, Pumpkin is all under my feet wanting some attention. Shoo big fat cat! (she is kind of cute isn't she???)
After everything is tucked and pinched in, sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and bake.
Ooooooo...... Ahhhhhhhh........ These were soooo good that I didn't put the soup part over them. We are not soupy people truth be told, so while I am sure these turnovers would be good with the soup over them, they are also wonderful "naked" as we like to call things around here.
I am sure I can heat these up and pop them into a To - Go container for the field once we are headed that way. They will be so tasty on those chilly afternoons.
