4-H Photography Project Outing #1 Celery Bog

I could have also titled this one, "Why is it I had a pretty easy time teaching other people's children for 18 years but cannot get one lesson through my oldest child's head without drama?" but we will save that whole mess for another day and blog post.....

Anywho, Tink is taking photography, among other projects, for her first year in 4-H, and we were invited to go to a photo shoot at the Celery Bog in West Lafayette.  It is a great nature area, but the funny thing is I lived right up next to it for about 15 years!  Here are her pictures, unedited.  Let us know what you think.  There were more, but Momma picked these to look at for today.

Ok, we stopped and took this one on the way home, just a mile away in fact.  She still needs to keep the thirds rule" in mind, but we have a good start.

  1. Very nice, Tink! I think everyone starts out putting the subject right smack in the middle of the photo. She will get lots of practice and will find out what looks best. It's great to be starting now! Love that sculpture.

  2. Wow...great job. I didn't realize that they the kids could do photography for 4-H. My 9 year old son loves taking my old camera and taking photos. I was planning on sharing some of his "work" on my blog soon. Thanks so much for sharing.

  4. A great start! (And I have the same problem with teaching others vs. my own!) I've never heard of the Celery Bog, wish I'd known about it when I lived there.
